I love to challenge myself with the question of how to proceed my creative process by in-depth research on the subject of physical thinking.
Gizem Bilgen completed her dance education at Codarts, Rotterdamse Dansacademie. During her academic studies, her choreographies were performed in Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, Tilburg and Eindhoven and in Body Building / Instillation Performance Corporation with visual artist Henrik Vibskov, Museum Night, NAI, Architecture Museum of Rotterdam.

She completed her internship with Sasha Waltz & Guests at RadialSystem V in Berlin in 2010 and was invited to an artist residency program at Riksteatern with Cullberg Ballet in April 2011. Bilgen received her MPA degree from MSFAU State Conservatory, Contemporary Dance Department in Istanbul.

Her thesis project Hiatus was performed at IKSV (Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts) 19th İstanbul Theatre Festival. She worked as a dance instructor at Yıldız Teknik University Faculty of Art and Design Dance Department and MSFAU State Conservatory, Contemporary Dance Department in the previous years. Currently, she teaches movement technique classes at Yeditepe University Theatre Department and İstanbul Bilgi University.

She continues to collaborate with and take part in projects with Akbank Sanat. She works as a consultant and an instructor in the field of dance as a freelance dancer and a choreographer in independent performing art projects.
